Mark Twain

The Mark Twain Memorial Commission opened in the home of Mark Twain in 1929, and the next year Hartford Public Library opened a branch on the first floor of the famous house. A subsequent restoration of the house made it necessary to move the branch to 256 Farmington Avenue. The branch relocated to Hartford Public High School in 2011, and closed in 2017.
